I’m doin’ a Meme or whatever the hell they are called.

Posted by Allison on May 15, 2011

Okay first let me say that I love the show Ruby for a million little reasons but the best one being her use of ridiculous made up words that make no sense.  My favorite is Hacky.  As in “I’m so hacky you guys!”  Which means happy and wacky at the same time.  There is even a section on her website/blog that explains what all the words mean.  Now whenever I say the word hell I think helicopter and giggle even if it’s in my head.  If you don’t watch Ruby you are missing out.  She if funny, charming, precious and oh so wounded. I will often find myself just weeping as she journeys though her ‘crap’.  The last episode was this Rosie O’donnell and let me say it made me love Rosie all over again.  I’d forgot her through the crazy Donald Trump feud thing and other things that made me forget why I used to love just reading her blog and listening to her chat.  On Ruby this week she was amazing.

Off topic much?

I was reading one of my favorite blogs I’m Living Proof that God has a Sense of Humor and she was answering questions from a Wednesday writing prompt (at least I think that’s what it was).  I don’t usually do these things but I really liked the questions so I thought I would answer them myself.

{1} What game show have you always thought you could be on and totally WIN?

Wheel of Fortune…hands down.  I am a savant at Wheel of Fortune.  I’ve been known to guess the puzzle with only 1 letter on numerous occasions.  If I could transport into the past though I would want to be on all of them.  I love 20,000 pyramid and nothing cracks me up like Match Game.  I wouldn’t have won either but the chance to be on Match Game with Charles Nelson Reilly would make my life!  No one wore a scarf like Charles Nelson Reilly!

{2} Do you have a tattoo(s)? What are they and what made you chose them? If not, would you get one, yes/no/why?

Yep, I have one.  It’s a Cupid on my right outer thigh. I LOVE it.  I didn’t get it until I was 30 although I have always wanted one.  I waited until I was 30 for a very good reason.  I know me.  I change my mind way too easily.  If I got one when I first wanted one I would have Rick Springfield Rules written across my ass or a picture of Matt Dillon as Dallas on my right breast.  Waiting is a good thing.

{3} What is your favorite piece of jewelry that you own?

My Pandora bracelet.  I love that I can chronicle my life by the charms on my wrist.  I have sections for the family, for the things I love, for the places we’ve traveled.  It’s just a beautiful keepsake, it also saves my husbands ASS whenever he has to buy a gift for me.  He knows that no matter the occasion he can always make it better with a Pandora charm.  I’m on my second bracelet now and no plan on ever stopping.

4} What is your driving pet peeve(s)?

Hands down my biggest pet peeve is drivers who turn on their signal WHILE they are turning.  It’s called an INDICATOR light as in I’m GOING to turn, NOT I AM turning.  If you turn it on while you are turning it is too fucking late.  If I hit you, it’s YOUR fault, I don’t care what the law says.  I believe this is the only thing that can bring out my road rage.  Seriously.

{5} What was your favorite sitcom growing up that you wish was still on?

Facts of Life.  Full stop.  I mean come ON!  I had Tootie hair for a large portion of my life growing up.  I used to wear striped long socks and roller skate.  On a serious note, there was no other program on at the time that actually dealt with real issues that I was having as a teenage girl AND had a cast member with a disability.  I loved that it was perfect Blair who had a cousin with CP, I thought it was ground-breaking at the time and now I realize looking back it was well ahead of its time.  Plus George Clooney was on, so there’s that.

That’s it, it’ll probably be years before I do another meme so feel free to steal it for your own blog if you enjoy it.  I won’t ‘tag’ people and expect them to do it too…cause that’s lame and i never do it back.

Here’s  a pic of my delicious boy ‘playing’ with his Dad and all his lego.  Those socks seriously need to be thrown out.  Trust me, I’ve told him, he thinks I’m overreacting.

And here is my gorgeous daughter whose newest hobby is taking pictures of herself making what I politely call ‘trout mouth’.  Her father has another name for it but it’s too rude to print.

I’m off to debate the virtues of bedtime with my children.  Something tells me I’ll win.

what is with all the girls making those ‘trout’ faces? Even my daughter does it. FYI, when she uses one of those pictures as her profile pic, her unknown people ‘friend’ requests goes way up. Not good, in my opinion.

I have NO idea why this is the newest thing…I think they look ridiculous but I’m told that’s because i’m old and uncool.
