Groupon anyone?

Posted by Allison on March 2, 2011

First before I get on a whole freak out and tell you about Groupon, here’s a picture that I just found while cleaning off the camera.  I’m learning how to use Photoshop elements so I was looking for some pictures to use and this one I just love.  What a monkey!  Well not an Arctic Monkey because Mr. Magoo informed me that they don’t exists.

Okay, Groupon.  I LOVE Groupon!  If you don’t know what it is, you’re missing out.  The other day, the deal of the day (for London UK) was The Body Shop.  How it works is you buy a coupon for £12 and you get a coupon for £30 to spend at the store.  So today I took the bus to The Body Shop and for the first time in over a YEAR I got something just for me.  I didn’t think about what the family could use, I didn’t check for the kids, I just got some treats all for me.  It felt like heaven.   In my little bag of goodness is 2 Watermelon Pasteque body lotions, 1 Hemp hand protector, 1 Red Cherry puree body lotion, 1 pink grapefruit LIP butter (seriously soooo awesome) and finally 1 HUGE Lychee blossom body butter ( a new product that smells AMAZING!).  It was a fantastic deal, thanks to groupon.  Seriously you need to check it out.

Today’s deal is “Enjoy a Main Course, Dessert and Champagne Cocktail Each for Two People for £33 at Kings Road Steakhouse & Grill (Worth up to £79)”  There is such a variety of different types of deals, there is something for everyone.  There are a few places on the web that do this, but usually I find Groupon the best deals.   Mind you Living Social has some good deals too.  But this is the first one I’ve done and I’m HIGHLY impressed!

Funny, I started this post then had to go pick up my Arctic Monkey (which don’t exist remember) and on the walk got more “stuff” to write about.  In the UK people know how to name business.  Today I saw a van for a Garden design company called Floral & Hardy!  Laughed out loud in the middle of the street.  Perfect.  And guaranteed I’ll never forget their name.  I think I will have to start paying attention to the hilariously named places around me, sounds like a good blog post.  I’ll be sure to take a picture of The Catcher in the Rye Pub next time we go past!
