Wow. Today is one of those days.  You see today is our 7th wedding anniversary.  We both forgot.  It’s about 10:30 in the morning and it dawns on both of us in different places.  For me, I was lying here after just finishing putting away a mountain of laundry that Scott had done.  For him, he was busy teaching at the school.  I was finishing up my birthday post for me Dad when I starting thinking about the date.  You see, we got married the day before my Dad’s birthday.  I was knocked up and he kept hinting and hinting that perhaps we should make it legal.  So anyway, I’m all teary at the computer thinking I HAVE to get this post up for my Dad’s birthday when I think, hmm, maybe I’ll hop over to my sister’s facebook and say happy birthday to her as well because her birthday is the day after Daddy’s.  And then it hits me, Hol’s birthday is the 20th….which means Dad’s birthday is NOT today it’s tomorrow….DING DING DING….holy SHIT today is our anniversary!  I guess neither of us are the romantic sort….

Funny though, when I finally remembered to go check the mail, there was an anniversary card from my inlaws….geesh, not only did they remember but the actually had the forethought to mail a CARD?

  1. Hehe, we both tend to forget ‘important’ dates, or else we reschedule them (we had our first wedding anniversary one weekend late, because some friends had their stag/hen weekends on our actual anniversary)

We have managed to forget 20 years straight. Somehow it seems ok if you both forget. Is it just me or is 2010 rushing past at Jetson’s pace… We are almost at February and I haven’t really got into the groove yet.

We remember birthdays in our house, but anniversaries…meh! As long as he remembers that for some certain reason I don’t cook on that day! Oh yeah and I buy something I actually like for my “no particular reason” day!

My daughter’s birthday is 2 days after our anniversary. I am forever mixing them up. Too much for a fried mama’s brain to remember. Happy Anniversary!!

  8. Isn’t it funny how time makes those dates a little less important? I remember our first few anniversaries…flowers, cards, candy, puky love talk. Now? It goes something like, “Well, holy crap. It’s our anniversary.” “It is?” “Yeah.” “Huh.” Romantic, isn’t it?
    Happy Anniversary!! =)

Happy anniversary!!! We just celebrated our 7th anniversary too! My dad always remembers our anniversary too..thankfully his card usually comes in the mail a few days ahead of time so it’s a nice reminder!!

  10. Happy anniversary!!

  11. What matters is the love you guys share. Try not to forget next year though.

  12. YOUCH! Well, at least you both forgot it and not just one of you leaving the other feeling slighted.
My hubby and I got married on 9-9-09…the way we figure it we are more likely to remember the date. LOL

  13. ahhhh its not so bad…and it doesnt mean you’re not romantic either but i hope you spent a nice evening together…happy anniversary!
